Bass and Drums. . .

Today we were joined by Lee Worley and we tracked "Who Is This" (working title). We chose to record this live as a band to capture the feel that comes when the boys play together. It was an amazing moment in the recording to hear these guys playing together live and get a taste of what the Ruckus brings night after night on the road. Lee really brought it and the tracking went without a hitch. Tomorrow we track bass with Jon Duke. . .

McMillan Tracking Day 2

Today we finished drums with Jacob Arnold. I'm really happy with everything we are getting.
We finished the day off right by going to watch my boys in PaperTongues play. I haven't seen them since Amos' in SouthEnd Charlotte almost a year ago.
They are absolutely killing it.

We start bass with Jon Duke tomorrow and we will be joined by Lee Worley to finish off the drums on the record in the afternoon. I love working with Lee, he was a major part of the Bright City team for the first year and working with him always feels like home. He has such a great feel and a deep pocket and he is one of my favorite people to be around.

I miss home today, my wife, and my christmas tree. It is a cold morning here in Atlanta and hotel rooms and 15 passenger vans lack the warmth and charm of the poinsettias in the living room and smell of my wife's cooking.

McMillan Tracking Day 1

Today we tracked drums on 3 of the songs. Jacob Arnold is really playing great and creating some amazing parts. The set up at Glow In The Dark in Atlanta is perfect and we are getting some really interesting sounds. Excited about tomorrow. . .
